The St. John the Evangelist Men’s Faith Sharing Group exists to nurture and deepen our On-going relationship with Jesus Christ through the working of the Holy Spirit. Single and married men can fully realize their God-given roles as husbands, fathers, and faith-filled Catholic men. There is much in this world that works against us, but by coming together to pray and share our faith in a comfortable atmosphere, we can be an encouragement to each other’s spiritual growth and development.
We meet every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month at 7:15 am to 8:15 am in the conference room of the OLQA Chapel. The men generally arrive at 7 am for coffee and buns. Call Ralph Santalis (845) 628-4169 if you have any questions.
Who are we?
We are men telling each other our story on our way to the Father.
We are parishioners coming together regularly in prayers, to share our spiritual journey, and to support each other on our way Home to the Father. Our sharing is grounded in the Scripture. We use the Sunday readings as a reference point in our sharing. Our story may include the challenges, struggles, joys, and triumphs along the way. As in most journeys, we take two steps forward, and one step back; but we are always supportive of each other, and always keeping an eye on Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
What we are not.
We are not preachers, teachers, or bible scholars. Therefore, we do not preach, teach, admonish, or proselytize. We just tell our story.
We are not a bible study group. We do not debate the precise meaning and nuances of scriptural passages. We do not carry out individual, one-on-one discussions. It is best done outside the group.
Summary
Men’s Faith Sharing: we tell our story – hoping that we might learn from each other on our journey Home to the Father.
