The Season of Lent is a most Sacred and Solemn time in our lives as Catholic Christians. We join with all the believers in Jesus Christ in reflecting upon the Passion and Saving Death of our Lord and Savior. We embark on a Spiritual Journey of Prayer, Penance, and Fasting, to turn away from ourselves and to focus on Jesus Christ and His Crucifixion. This is an interior journey of one’s Christian Life. It is a time for us to rid ourselves of those ways that are contrary to following the Lord. To renew our Baptismal Promises:
TO REJECT SATAN AND ALL HIS WORKS AND ALL HIS EMPTY PROMISES. TO BELIEVE IN GOD THE FATHER, HIS ONLY SON JESUS CHRIST, AND THE HOLY SPIRIT. THAT JESUS CHRIST WAS BORN OF THE VIRGIN MARY, WAS CRUCIFIED, DIED, AND WAS BURIED; ROSE FROM THE DEAD, AD IS NOW SEATED AT THE RIGHT HAND OF THE FATHER. TO BELIEVE IN THE HOLY CATHOLIC CHURCH, THE COMMUNION OF SAINTS, THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS, AND THE RESURRECTION OF THE BODY, AND LIFE EVERLASTING. AMEN.
The Christian Life is an encounter and relationship with Jesus Christ that travels from the Head to the Heart. From our knowledge of Christ to our Love of Christ. We must turn away from all things that hinder our relationship with Jesus Christ and one another.
In Jesus Christ, The Way, The Truth, and The Life, may we come to a renewed Life of Faith,
